This was a great episode. Very informative and candid -- I particularly appreciated the way Hallie's parents acknowledged that they may never be sure where her sight gains have come from, even as they plan another trip to China for a second round of therapy. I doubt if there's a parent in this group who doesn't identify with that conflicted mix of hope and scepticism. It's sad, though, that anyone should have to traipse across the globe for cutting-edge therapy. Not long ago we just had to pack up and get to the Mayo Clinic or Cedar Sinai. But offshore medical care is a trend that is sure to continue, for better or worse.
