This week, in a special episode, Nathan, Renee and Zachary are on family vacation in Rocky Mountain National Park. In this fun, lighthearted episode, the Charlans show what they've done to adapt their trip for Zachary, explore the wonders of the mountains, and goof off a little.

Nathan, Renee, & Zach,
Thank you for sharing your vacation with us through EFTV. It really helps those of us who have similar children know that it is possible to have fun vacations like we used to have. We have a Chariot with the hiking attachment for our 23 lb 3-year old with CP. It helps us get out and enjoy the outdoors too! I'll be watching your website for more outing ideas!
Thank you!
Christine, Ed & Brian
Hey Nathan and Renee,
Great video!! You making me miss CO. though. Hey Renee they make dual and single wheeled carts as Zach gets older you can modify it as you need to. You can see the happy face of Zach when he is outdoors no doubt! Yes Nathan you will have to put down the camera and help your wife! Sorry thats the rules, and you know the carts that i'm referring to right??
The outakes are always a part it!! Sorry Renee you need to help edit so we can see Nathans.
@elktalkn You definitely have reason to miss Colorado! It's a wonderful state to live with plenty of "vacation" areas just a short drive away. We've heard and seen some pictures of those wheeled carts! What a great suggestion. This will definitely be helpful for when Zachary gets older and heavier. Much appreciated! I'll have to try and teach Renee how to edit ; ) or pretty soon she'll just force me to include all my horrible outtakes too!
I'm writing from an orphanage in Kolkata where four of my girls have severe disabilities. Ganga is the one who understands she has CP. She loves meeting others with CP. She has been with us for three years, but when she came she could only use her eyes; nothing else worked.

Ganga loves watching Zachary. I used to carry her in a backpack to go to school in the morning so she really connected. then we moved to a stroller I was able to get from the US, and then a wheelchair brought from Thailand..
I told Ganga that you guys were "bondos" (friends). Tomorrow someone is visiting to start designing a way for her to dance with the big girls.
Your work is inspiring.
Hi Dr. Michelle! Thanks for coming to ExceptionalFamilyTV.com and it was wonderful to connect with you through our YouTube channel! We are definitely bondos with Ganga and we have watched her videos too! Tell her Zachary, along with Renee and I say "hello" and we look forward to seeing videos of her dance with the big girls!
Hello,
I would love to see a photo or video clip of Ganga! Other than wanting to learn to dance what are some things she really enjoys?
Susan
I promise to write more in a couple of days. There is a video of Ganga, two actually, under my name, drmichelleharrison.. In fact thats how I found all of you.
I just posted about Ganga on my blog, www.travelingcloud.typepad.com/shishur_sevay/ with a few pictures. I've done other posts about her but my blog isn't indexed. I did a recent one of "Sit and Draw" where she was drawing and then someone tried to "help" her and Ganga's facial expression told it all! There was another some years ago when she first "used" her hands to turn pages in a book. I'm happy to be sharing these stories with all of you.
Michelle
You guys have to promise to stop by if you would ever visit the Cleveland area...Every time I see Zachary I feel like I could just reach in to give him a big hug! Especially for those giggles...
Great work on giving ideas and tips for vacation!
@Gabriella We would definitely stop by and see you if we're ever around Cleveland. Zachary definitely loves hugs and one of his favorite things to do is laugh. He's got a great attitude : )
